Cannot access App Center server via CCS 6.0

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200

Hi,

I just installed the CCS6. Trying to debug with C55x simulator that I should get from CCS App Center server. However, when I trying to open the App Center the next message is appears:

"We are sorry, we can not access the CCS App Center server. Please check your Internet connection and press the "Reload" button in this page. Alternatively, you may use the "Browse" button to navigate to a locally accessible CCS App Center repository (separate download required).

First of all both the Reload and Browse buttons are not working (nothing happens). Second I tried to update the proxy in the Preferences->General->Network Connections, but it didn't help.

My questions are:

1. How else can I get to the App Center.

2. Where can I get the c55x simulator for CCS6.

3. How can I downlaod the CCS App Center repository

4. Why id doesn't working :)

Thanks,

Pavel

  • Hi Pavel,

This purely seems like an Internet related issue. CCS App center comes with CCS v6 inbuilt. Try installing CCS v6 in some other PC with full internet access (ie no firewall blocking any sites.)

Have you seen Simulators removed in CCSv6 ?

  • Where I work we don't really have access to the internet without proxy, so it is a not possibility. As far as I know our firewall doesn't block ti site and I did updated the proxy in the CCS 6.0. I don't have any issues with access to TI sites.

Anyhow doesn't TI have site where I can get the data and adding it to CCS?

  • Here is Quote from TI Wiki:

    List of Simulator in CCSv6

List of Simulator available in CCSv6.0 (as of CCSv6.0.0.00091)

NOTE: CCSv6 default installation will NOT have any simulators. They can be obtained through the CCS App Center. For more details, check the CCSv6 Changes wiki article.

    And one more:

    Simulation

Texas Instruments is moving away from providing simulators and instead is focusing on providing low cost development boards. As a result in the standard installation you will not see any simulators. If you require a simulator they are available on a very limited exception basis. Please contact your TI business contact to request a simulator.

So how do I get it?

  • Hi Pavel,

please contact your local rep and/or post your request to the device forum.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

Pavel's issue is the closest to mine that I have found on the forum, so I will tack on my question ...

I have installed CCS 6 on a XP machine so I can learn and experiment with a CC3200-Launchpad. The XP machine is not connected to the Internet. I have managed to download CCS, etc., on another machine and sneakernet the components to the XP machine.

How can I access the CCS App Center in a similar manner, for example by using a web browser, so that I can download Add-ons to transfer to the air-gapped XP machine.

    The two Add-ons I need are "TI-RTOS for Simplelink" and "CC3200 Add-On"

    Thanks,

    Eric
