CCSv5 support given CCSv6 release

Hi Folks

Anyone know how much support (in terms of releases) going forward there will be for CCSv5 given CCSv6's beta release?

Are there any further CCSv5 releases planned?

Cheers

Eddie

Hi Eddie, what it mean your request? Release 6.0 is GA 190, maybe some corrective release can exit soon to clean up issues.

From announcement we read only ccs V6 is supported and release 5.x is going obsoleted.

  • Roberto is correct, CCSv5 is being deprecated in support. There will not be any more actual CCSv5 patches (For example there are no plans to have a CCSv5.6 or CCSv5.5.1). There may be some other updates like emu packages and you should still be able to get compiler updates and such. But no debugger/IDE updates.

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki-Soo and Roberto

Would you know when a release fixing this bug is released?

CCSv6 takes forever to finish startup

I'm testing it now. It would give me more ammo to go to battle over using CCSv6 instead of CCSv5 with my management.

    Cheers

  • Baltasar can best answer that question. I would wait for his response on that thread.

  • I spoke with Baltasar and we are looking at having this available for 6.1.0 (sometime the end of summer (Aug/Sept) ).
