Hi,

I am using MSP430f5438 with MSP-FET430UIF on CCSv4. I would like to use printf() to display messages on the console. I found the link for doing it in CCSv5

Can the same be done with CCSv4.2? I have MSP430 CG tool 3.3.3. I tried the settings but not able to print anything.

Yes.

One other thing to check ... Make sure you are not overflowing the stack. Changing the stack size is very similar to changing the heap size. Make it a very large number to see if that helps.

Many thanks for the reply. I increased the stack size and also used '\n' termination to flush the buffer. Now it works.
