CCS4 create target configuration.. ?

Hi,

Emulator used: gaotek USB XDS510, CCS version 4.

Trying to create a target configuration for our custom board.  Did the same easily for CCS3.3 using the CCS setup & TI XDS5100 Emulator option provided with it.

For the above kind of emulators, please provide inputs on creating and connecting to the DSP's.

Thanks

Swamy

  • If were able to build a configuration in CCSv3.3, using default TI drivers, then you should be able to do the same with v4. A similar tool to build your configuration exists in v4:

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki,

In V4, for a custom board, please mention the configuaration(i e connection type in CCS V3.3) to be used for a gaotek emulator.  In CCS setup for V3.3 we used the TI XDS510 Emulator as connection type and built the system.  Now for CCS V4, from the advanced setup -- new .. we find the Emulators XDS100 & XDS 560, we use XDS 510 emulator.  So would like to know how to go about it.

    Regards

  • You're right, looks like we do not support TI XDS510 anymore. Your best option is to contact Gaotek support and ask them about their support for CCSv4. They may have an install package that will add that support to v4.

    Thanks

  • Hi Lee,

Our Emulator supplier has given us a XDS510 Emulator supporting CCS4.  Using which I have created my Target Configuration.  But while trying to connect to the target (TMS320TCI6487 DSP's) I get the following error.

Unable to create CCBoard0.dat, reason --  Invalid Processor ID

Could you please feedback if you have come across this error and with suggestions.

    Thanks Very much

    Regards

  • Hi Lokesh,

Please provide the information here: http://tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCS

What kind of XDS510 emulator is this? Is it from Gaotek?

  • Hi Lee,

    Thanks..

Yes Lee, Its a Gaotek XDS510 Emulator, it was upgraded to support CCS4.  All necessary driver files were provided.

Can't figure out what is causing this error, Is it because of CCS4 or the driver files.   "Unable to create ccBoard.dat, proc ID is Invalid"

    Please feedback .

    Thanks very much
