Cannot install updated code generation tools in CCSV3.3

I downloaded the file TI_CGT_C6000_6.1.10_setup.exe from the TI update web site. I did not get any errors and the file appears to be intact. However, when I try to run this file either from Windows Explorer or from a CMD window it immediately returns to the command prompt and nothing happens. I don't see any errors or anything. This is some problem with my OS I think but I can't figure out what could cause this. Has anyone else heard of something like this?

  • I also tried the file ti_cgt_c6000_6.1.11_setup_win32.exe and it does the same thing.

  • Dan,

I downloaded and tried running the exe. The install wizard came up immediately. There must be some config on your machine that is interfering with the the InstallJammer generated installer.

  • Ki,

I thought that was the problem but I cannot figure out what is interfering with the installer. This file (C6000CodeGenerationTools6.1.9.exe) runs just fine. Do you have any idea what could be the source of interference.

  • If 6.1.9 runs fine, then perhaps they are used a newer version of InstallJammer with 6.1.11 and it introduces some conflict on some machines. I'm not so knowledgeable regarding install issues so I'll need to contact so folks who have more knowledge. In the meantime, if you can provide me with a contact e-mail address, I can give you a zip file of the cgt tools and instructions on how to register it so CCS sees it.
