It takes a long time for "loading device information"!

Hi,

I am using the Version: 4.0.0.16000 , with the JDT plugin(eclipse-JDT-3.2.zip) installed.

When I open the ccsv4 these days, it takes 3~5 minutes to wait for the "loading device information(43%)...." to be completed to "loading device information(86%)...".

Is there anthing wrong?

There is some parsing of various files that is done when CCS is launched. That is what the "loading device information" message refers to. It does take several seconds and we plan on improving this performance in future service releases of v4. However 3-5 minutes sounds a bit extreme. What are the system specs of your PC (speed, how much RAM, etc)?

You're machine is better than mine for sure! Does it always take 3-5 minutes EVERY time you open CCS??

The device xml files get parsed in a couple of places. In 4.1 there are some significant improvements in the speed of this parsing.

You should notice improvements when starting CCS as well when launching debug sessions.
