We are using CCS 5.5 with the TI ARM compiler 5.1.1 that installed with CCS 5.5. I am updating another engineer's compiler to 5.1.2. The installation completed without error or warning and popped up a dialog saying we needed to restart CCS. We clicked OK and closed CCS.
But on the task bar, a icon for the installer remained (could have gone and come back) as if it were still active. We used task manager to kill the installer. Now when ever we start CCS, the CCS splash screen is displayed for a 10+ seconds, then it disappears and the CCS icon in the task bar disappears and the installer icon appears.
We rebooted the computer. This did not help.
It is as if there is some breadcrumb in the CCS application directory indicating to continue installing. But clicking on the installer's icon in the task bar does nothing. I.e., you can not cause the installer to show itself on the desktop.
What do I need to do to complete this update without reinstalling CCS?
Hi John,
The CCS installation of the compiler only starts after the restart of eclipse. Unfortunately, when you killed off the installer, you stopped that and have probably left the metadata in an unknown state. Could you please email me directly at d-innis@ti.com, and I'll try and get you back to a good state.
Please send me the following:
<installdir>\ccsv5\eclipse\ccs_config.xml*
c:\program files\installjammer registry\ccsv5\* (program files (x86) if it's a 64 bit machine.
List of the contents of <installdir>\ccsv5\eclipse\downloads folder.
Thanks
Danish
