CCSV6 installation does not start

hello there,

i would like to install CCSV6 on my windows 7 Pro pc. therefore i downloaded the offline installer for CCS6.0.0.00190_win32 from ti's webpage and extracted the zip file.

but now, when i click the setup exe, there happens nothing... no reaction. no, installer window, no error message... simply nothing...

i tried to deinstall ccs5, restart pc, turn of antivir and firewall, start setup as admin.... always the same...

does anybody have an idea what could be the problem?

Hi Peter,

I hope the installation package has been downloaded completely. Did you try downloading the package again?

thank you for your help...

i tried installing on another pc with the same zip. there it worked fine...

so i assume the package is downloaded correctly...

i also tried the online installer... same problem :)

what could prevent the installer from starting?

True... it has been downloaded correctly then. Any rights issue? Are you the administrator? Did you try by clicking "Run as Administrator"?

Peter, then this seems like something is blocking the installer to run! Did you try installing some other software other than CCS? Does that get blocked too?

yep... tried installing other sw...

this problem seems only to exist with CCSV6

Peter, can you try an experiment for me? I would like to see if something on your PATH is causing problems.

Open a console window, type

SET Path=C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\

CD to the folder where you extracted the ZIP file. Attempt to run the installer from the console window. What happens?

thank you for your help...

in the meanwhile i have re-installed my windows 7 due to absence of any better idea :( :( i've tried it for so long now...

it's the hard method... but what should i say... installation worked now with a clean windows 7 :) :)

Peter, thanks for the update. I am very sorry you had to resort to such extreme measures. I suspect the installer was picking up something from your environment that was causing it to exit. I am going to file a bug report to see if we can put some protection in the installer to prevent this from being a possibility.

I have the same problem as described above, but I would really like to avoid reinstalling the whole windows7 so could you please help mi.

I use windows 7 and have already CCS V5 installed and it works fine. However when I try to install CCS V6 (version 6.0.1.00040 offline) it starts up the installation and creates a few directories, but then it exits the installation. I have tried to install from the cmd line as well, but with the same problem. I have also tried to remove CCS v5 first, and to disable virus protection, but again same problem.

Hi again

I found a solution myself: I had an extra antivirus program running in the background that I had to disable. Now the installation runs smoothly. :-)
