CCS DSK version functionality

I am a bit confused about the DSK version of CCS and was hoping someone could clarify.  My understanding is that the DSK version of CCS cannot use service releases, is this right?  The version I have (from a brand-new DSK) shipped with a version of code composer from before the first service release.  This means that such basic debugging functionality as the watch window is broken.  Am I just stuck with this?

Thanks,

-B.

  • Brady,

Unfortunately yes, you are correct that the DSK version of CCS v3.1/3.3 would not allow for Service Release patches; however, CCSv4 will allow for CGT, BIOS, Service Releases and other components to be patched even on the DSK versions of the software. If you have not checked out the new v4 tools you can find loads of information on the Embedded Processors Wiki (including this Licensing article).
