How to create a project for 674x simulator

Hi,

I am beginning with my first CCS project. I am using CCS 5.3.0. I need to run a code on C674x Cycle Accurate Simulator.

Can anyone please provide me with any links / documents which can give a step-by-step method that I have to follow?

Also, should my project use either RTSC or SYS/BIOS , or should it not ? I've been reading about them, but haven't understood much ( my code uses the malloc() function ).

Hi Aditya,

1) Create new CCS project (ex: hello world) and mention C6000 as a executable.

For Simulator,

2) Create new target configuration and select simulator for appropriate device.

Thanks for the quick reply !

1) I first created a new CCS project, executable, C6000, C674x Generic Devices, and opened

empty projects -> empty project

2) I copied the code (which runs successfully on Microsoft Visual Studio 2010)

3) I selected the following target

4) Build was complete with 2 warnings about stack and heap size , which went away when i manually changed the sizes to 0x1000 each in the build settings

5) I ran 'Debug' , entry point was reached (the main function) , but when i resumed, i got an error

I read quite many posts about this, but did not find anything which i could use. How do I proceed ?

Apparently a linker file ( .cmd) was missing. I downloaded the c6747.cmd file and the code now works !
