CCSv4: what happens after evaluation period expired?

Champs,

What will happen if the evaluation period of CCSv4 expired? I know that you can extend to 90 days evaluation or activate CCS as "XDS100/DSK only" version. But what if a customer doesn't have an EVM and simply wants to use the simulator after 90 days? Will it work and will he only get a warning to register, or will CCS stop working?

Thanks,
  Robert

  • Robert,

When the time limited version expires, you won't get past the license dialog when you start CCS.  It needs to have some sort of license to proceed.  If a customer wants to use a simulator beyond the additional 90 days they can use the "Free limited license" this supports XDS100, onboard emulation and simulators.

    Regards,

    John

  • If the license has expired, CCS will not be able to start a debug session. If they are interested in just using the simulator, they can use a free bundled license (XDS100/DSK/Simulator version) with no restriction,

    Thanks
