Do TIXDS100 driver for 64+ cpu core of CCS deassert TRST pin??

Greetings,

I have a third party XDS100 emulator which works fine with F2802x (F28xx cpu core) based boards. But the same emulator does not work with a 64+ cpu core based dsp (TCI6486).

I am using 674x CPU core in the target configuration. This is C64+ floating point core.  And as the configuration file of this DSP suggests it is going to use tixds6400_plus.dvr driver.

So the same configuration should work for any 64+ cpu core based cpu. But I am not able to connect to the board.

On the board TRSTn is puled down with a 4.75K resistor, this suggests that it is the responsibility of the emulator to pull it up to bring the TAP controller out of reset.

Does any body have idea whether CCS driver for XDS100 emulator and 64+ core ( tixds6400_plus.dvr) deasserts the TRST pin on connection?

Help is highly appreciated..

Thanks,

Amit

  • I get the following erro on trying to connect using CCS:

Error on connecting to the target:

    Error:0x80000244/-1265

Fatal Error during: Register, Initialization, OCS,

The TAP ID for the DAP, read as 0x00000000, does not match with the default ID or the one provided with the board file.

  • Amit,

Currently XDS100 only supports 28x, 55x, 54x and 674x.  We do not support all C64x+ devices today with XDS100.  Support for more devices will be added later this year with the next revision of the XDS100 h/w.

  • John,

Thank you for your reply. The xds100 wiki says the same thing. But, can you please have a look at following link:

    http://e2e.ti.com/forums/p/7436/28913.aspx

This shows that the tixds6400_plus.dvr driver works with a board based on TMS320C6435 which contains a 64+ dsp core. The connection was set up using the target configuration for 674x CPU which internally uses tixds6400_plus.dvr.

I have came across other people also who have successfully connected a 64+ dsp core based target to CCSv3.3.

    Thanks,

    Amit

  • Amit,

Yes people have been able to connect an XDS100 to C64x+ devices.  However at this time it is not something we have validated and we do not support it.  You may want to reply to that other thread and ask Eric what he did to enable it.

    Regards,
    John
