Hi,

I'm using CCS6

Controller: Stellaris LM3S2965.

I'm facing problem with .bin file

i have added below lines in Post-Build Steps Tab

"${CCE_INSTALL_ROOT}/utils/tiobj2bin/tiobj2bin" "${BuildArtifactFileName}" "${BuildArtifactFileBaseName}.bin" "${CG_TOOL_ROOT}/bin/ofd470" "${CG_TOOL_ROOT}/bin/hex470" "${CCE_INSTALL_ROOT}/utils/tiobj2bin/mkhex4bin"

in Debug folder .bin is not generated.
i'm attaching the Screen shot.
I guess its generating bin file but its not recognising that file as .bin
Please guide me.

Hi,

I think your problem is the CCE_INSTALL ROOT.

It should be CCS_INSTALL_ROOT.

Try this below.

"${CCS_INSTALL_ROOT}/utils/tiobj2bin/tiobj2bin" "${BuildArtifactFileName}" "${BuildArtifactFileBaseName}.bin" "${CG_TOOL_ROOT}/bin/armofd" "${CG_TOOL_ROOT}/bin/armhex" "${CCS_INSTALL_ROOT}/utils/tiobj2bin/mkhex4bin"

i copy pasted your given lines but same result.

in console its showing "UCH_2BAY_R3_130614_V_1_0_clock change.bin"

but in in debug folder its showing "UCH_2BAY_R3_130614_V_1_0_clock" instead of "UCH_2BAY_R3_130614_V_1_0_clock.bin"

when i see the properties of UCH_2BAY_R3_130614_V_1_0_clock file the file type mentioned as "file"

Hi,

I think this depends if CCS_INSTALL_ROOT and CG_TOOL_ROOT is set properly at CCS. You, can verify that at CCS settings.

Hi Markel,

I have checked the settings of CCS_INSTALL_ROOT AND CG_TOOL_ROOT they are defined correctly.

i'm attaching the screenshot of my settings.

please correct me if i go wrong

Your CG_TOOL_ROOT value is different from mine. See, below.

This is because the file name has spaces in it. The utility does not seem to handle .bin files with spaces in the name. If you change the name of the .bin file in your post-build command such that there are no spaces in the name, it should work. Alternately you can ensure that the project name itself does not have any spaces in it (which will consequently ensure that the .bin file name does not have spaces).

You are right. Your finding and Suggestion Solved my problem.

I forgot to place an underscore in filename and didnt notice that.
