CCSv6: Changing Path variable in linked resources does not change build variable

Hello,

I am using CCSv6.0.0.00190.

Changing the path variable in the Linked Resources does not change the build variable that has the same name.

Is this a bug?

Hi Stephen,

no this is the expected behaviour. Path variables are only for linked resources. Build variables are for build. These can be something other than a directory/path as well.

Hello Lisa,

I must have previously added the variable to both locations.

Why have a separate variables for both?

Hi Stephen,

I am not sure why they separated out the path for linked resources but I can tell you is a behaviour inherited from Eclipse.

Note both these can be set at the workspace level if this makes is a small amount more convenient. Window->Preferences .. you can do a filter on var for build variables and linked for linked resources.
