Linker file and global header file

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28335, CONTROLSUITE

Hello,

I am working on TMS320F28335. To use code composer we need linker files and header file. I wanted to know if it is same for the whole C2000 series or different for all the families. Also do we need to create these files or we can get them from you ?

  • Hi Gopaiah,

Simply download controlSuite; this suite will include all example projects. All the header files and linker files are bundled with them. If you need to customize a linker file, you simply have to edit the existing one and so you don't have to create anything from scratch.

After downloading controlSuite, you can find all header files, linker files and example codes for F28335 mcu in this folder:

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\device_support\f2833x\v133

    Regards,

    Gautam

  • Hi Gopaiah,

as Gautam mentions this comes in CCS.   When you install ccs you will be asked what device support to install.  Simply make sure you select the C2000 and as Gautam mentions, be sure to install ControlSuite!

The linker command files are then included.  Some people find they need/want to modify them but for many there is no need.    These are usually, like header files, for a device family.  Across the C2000 parts, in other words, there will be more than one.   When you import an example or create a project you will have to specify the specific device.   This is in order to properly connect to the target

    Best regards,
    Lisa
