Hi,

Someone please please please tell me how I can :

open an existing project from IAR in CCS. I know it is very trivial but I need to do this ASAP.

I got the free: TMDFCCS-MCULTD version

the IAR project format is very different and you cannot open an existing IAR project into CCSv4. You will need to create a new CCSv4 project and add your existing source files to it.

Does anybody have a step by step approach to this subject topic?

Such as say a punch list or gotcha's or some general help.

Are there any tools for this?

We currently use both IAR and CSS for two different platforms.

I want to migrate the IAR code to CCS so we can share common code and have a uniform development environment.

I certainly do not want to create new projects and manually move things as it is quite error prone.

Am I asking too much????

Unfortunately you are out of luck; as Ki mentioned, there are no tools to convert the project itself from IAR to CCS.

To share code between projects, CCSv4 can simply link to the source files instead creating a copy of them to the project directory (menu Project --> Link Files to Active Project). In this case you can truly share each source file with both projects.

Also, you can create a portable project where you will be able to place the project and its source files anywhere in your system - provided the relative paths between them are kept intact. Check the page below for more details:

I don't recall anything else that could help you with this effort, but I will definitely report back if I find any additional tips or tools.
