I am logged in to the TI Web Portal, but am unable to download a copy of Code Composer Studio, of any version, on any platform, due to an issue with the website. I suspect that this has to do with an extra geographic security layer utilized to restrict access to "sensitive" downloads.
I have left a message for your support staff; however, your offices are closed outside of "normal" business hours. This does not help those of us who work on weekends, as well as those located in export markets.
I'm generally a patient person, but this has really affected my ability to get any work down today as a consequence of the unnecessary lockdown on CCS downloads. While I am aware of the perceived (if not wholly misguided) need to restrict access to development tools for nations which are subject to export restrictions (itself another conversation entirely), I feel that the barrage of login screens required to download a file is really a bit over the top (and the subsequent e-mail that follows).
I also expect that, having already logged in, that I should not have to re-authenticate in order to obtain a download--this is exceptionally poor management and certainly makes one wonder if TI is a partner which appropriately considers the management and functional role of Internet-connected devices as a priority....
Please take a good look at your competitors, as well as the Eclipse Project (upon which CCS is based), and consider the implications of restricting access to development tools in such (in my opinion) a draconian manner. It really does make life more difficult for the rest of us who wish to get things done, using TI components, and it reflects poorly on your ability to deliver a seamless experience for the people that drive business to the brand.
The inability to download development tools, at any time, from any platform, due to a web hosting mismanagement issue, is in 2014 an absolutely unacceptable state of affairs. Though I would expect that you will fix the short-term issue immediately, I also expect that you re-consider your approach to your partners in the manner by which we are able to obtain support, and the appropriate tools, without any extra or undue effort on our part, whenever it is required.
Thank you.
