I really expected the MSP430FR5969 LaunchPad Evaluation Kit to kinda work out of the box. Well, I can't get it to work... I get an error box, Error connecting to the target: Unknown device and if I cancel that I get an error box with "Unable to connect to the target." Sure would be nice if this worked out of the box so I could at least run some example programs....I must be doing something wrong Suggestions?

It's going to be a long night....might have to convince the customer to goto another processor/manufacturer on Monday.

I looked through the documentation and did not see what required drivers needed to be loaded. The out of the box experience worked. I could get the temperature GUI to work and the FRAM logging. But when I attempted to program the device is when I could not establish communications. It is recognized as a device by Windows.

Code Composer Studio

Version: 5.5.0.00077

and windows 7.

Got out my second MSP430FR5969 LaunchPad Evaluation Kit and started over. The debug firmware was updated when first plugged in...lots of LED's flashing. Attempted to Debug but I get the same message: "Error connecting to the target: Unknown Device." Same as before. That is two LaunchPads with two failures. Losing lots of timer here.

Suggestions????? Hurry!!!!!

Hi,

Please try CCSv6. Your launchpad is quite new and I susupect only v6 installs updated enough drivers. You can install v6 in a separate directory and keep v5.

I attempted to load V6 all through the weekend and all I got was "Web reloading" or something like that. Hopefully that has been fixed....

It appears that you do need V6 to make this LaunchPad communicate. I have downloaded the latest version and everything is working OK. Have no idea why I could not download this Saturday or Sunday, but on Monday the download appears to be working.
