Using MSP-FET with CCS 5.2

Hi all

I use CCS version 5.2 for my project.

Recently I bought the MSP-FET debugger.

The problem is that when I try to debug my MSP430F5529 based board I receive this message: "Error initializing emulator:
No USB FET was found"

I tried to update the CCS and almost all updates are successfully installed ,except of "MSP430 Emulators". When I try to update this one I receive this message: "Missing requirement: MSP430 Emulators 6.0.1.1 (com.ti.ccstudio.msp430.emu.win32.feature.group 6.0.1.1) requires 'com.ti.ccstudio.installer.win32.feature.group 6.0.0' but it could not be found".

So may be someone can advise me what I need to do in order to use MSP-FET debugger with CCS 5.2

Hi Yuri,

do you mean the new small black FET? This only works with the new ccsv6.

If you mean the old grey one, more details would help. Check the device manager, check different USB ports, check the jumpers and connections etc.

Please also note 5.2 is an old version. if you have the old FET ... Please consider if not v6the latest v5 version ... V5.5.

Yes - the black one.

So as I understand this debugger didn't work with CCS5.x ??

The problem is that I get some old project made with CCS 5.2, but didn't get he debugger. So I bought the only one that is available - the black MSP-FET.

I just don't understand why TI didn't publish that this debugger don't support CCS from version 5.x and earlier ??

May be there is something that I can do for fix this problem?

the only option would be to install ccsv6 and import the projects. Sorry for any inconvenience.
