Hello,
I have some projects that were imported into a new empty workspace and compiled via command line in CCSv5.5 just fine but after I upgraded to CCSv6 it hangs randomly, I tried enabling TI_TRACE_LOGGING=6 in environment variables but there are no logs generated. What can I do to trace the problem?

Hi Ki,
I'm importing into a clean workspace and then start build with eclipsec -noSplash -data "ccsWorkspace" -application com.ti.ccstudio.apps.projectBuild -ccs.buildType full -ccs.projects MyProject
but it hangs at Invoking C6000 Compiler or sometimes after a .cpp file was compiled. I'm not getting as far as launching a debug session because I couldn't compile the project. As I've said, this was working fine in 5.5.

Are you using the same workspace that was used with CCSv5.5 or did you reimport them into a new workspace folder for v6?
ok. thanks. I assume it always builds correctly from the v6 IDE.
As for why the command-line failure... hard to say with these random issues. A reproducible test case would be ideal but those are always challenging to provide. for the times it hangs, does it always hang in the same location? Also try removing the parallel build option. It's a reach but right now I can't think of too many suggestions at the moment.
Indeed, from IDE it builds fine. It does seem to always hang in the same location and I disabled the build with multiple processors. I recreated the library project, even changed the .cpp files to contain just an empty function and it was still blocking.

The Sysinternals Suite maybe be able to help diagnose where the hang occurs. E.g.:
1) Use the Process Explorer to determine if the C6000 compiler is spawned by CCS
2) use the File Monitor in Process Monitor to which which files are read by the C6000 Compiler.
Same version in both, 7.4.8. Actually the .obj files are generated but the .lib doesn't exist. I will try that suite and get back to you.
