Devcie Driver for 5507

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5507

I have downloaded the CCS v3.3 evaluation software, and I am trying to set it up for connection to a TMS320VC5507.  I have been using CCS 3.1 previously with a different DSP so I am familiar with setting up a connection.

There are no 5507 choices under Avalable Factory Boards in the setup.  I have attempted to install all of the updates allowed, but no luck.

Any ideas?

What sort of emulator are you using? Typically you would receive a set of emulation drivers from your emulator manufacturer that give you the device specific connections listed in the CCS setup utility, for example on my CCS 3.3 install I have C5507 listed in the Blackhawk drivers.

Unfortunately the CCS 3.3 evaluation version does not allow for much in the way of updates so you are largely stuck at the base CCS 3.3 release, which means that newer devices may not be supported by it, though I suspect C5507 support is still in there and this is just a matter of installing the driver package for your particular emulator.

  • What configuration did you use for CCS3.1?

You should be able to use C5509 configuration for C5507 DSP.  The C5509A is a superset of C5507 device with only change in size of internal memory.

The other alternative is to get the purchased version of CCS3.3 and create custom board configuration.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the help.  I will check with my emulator manufacturer and/or work with a 5509 setup.
