CCS version to use for TMS320TCI6614 EVM?

We bought 6614 EVM recently and got CCS5.1v along with it but when we installed ccs5.1v we found out that there is no support for C66xx devices in ccs5.1v. How do we upgrade to higher versions for example 5.5v(we see it supports C66xx devices). Is there any functional difference between licensed and trail version?

Hi Anji,

Why don't you install the latest CCS v6 from here?

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:Code_Composer_Studio_v6#Download

If you want to update v5.1 to v5.5 then simply click on Help -> Check for Updates

Hi Gautham,

CCS v6 don't have support for simulator mode. I will be using EVM as well as simulator mode that's reason why I prefer CCS v5.5. Do we have any restrictions in trail version?

Which emulator are you using? If XDS100v2 then you can activate the Free Version license.

Sorry Anji, then you'll have to purchase a license or use a 90-day evaluation license.

Actually, all on-board emulation besides MSP430 is supported by the free license. That includes the XDS560v2 mezzanine card. So are all simulators. It is really any non-xds100 external emulator which is not covered.
