CCS4 and RTOS

Hello,

I have a MSP430, a MSP430 USB-Debug-Interface and CCS4 (4.1.1.00014). I'd like to use a Real-Time Operating System on my MSP430.

I tried to compile Contiki (http://www.sics.se/contiki/) with CCS4 (using Makefile project), but the binary result is not recognised by CCS4.

Has anyone tried to use a RTOS with CCS4 ? (Either Contiki or other)

I used the compiler from mspgcc and the make from TI (tools\compiler\msp430\bin\mk430.exe).

The code is actually well compiled, but the problem is the target. I used msb430 (note that it is not the CPU but debugging box I think). The result is apparently not what CCS4 expects ("Program is not a recognized executable."), thus it doesn't want to use that for programming the processor.

I don't think you want to be running mk430.exe. That is a library builder of some sort. You will want to load the output of mspgcc. Note that there is a newer version of mspgcc available that produces more modern debug information that should work better in CCS.

You also want to make sure that the -mmcu=msp430xxxx option is set.
