CCS on Linux Mint - How to start it up?

I downloaded CCS Linux setup from the TI website last week and proceeded with the installation.

I successfully ran through the installer choosing the components I needed to install CCS- Tiva & MSP430. Now everything seemed to have worked fine but I cannot find the way to start CCS in linux.


As in in windows, there will be a shortcut on the desktop, but in linux how is it supposed to be started up?

Now, I have installed firefox, chrome, and many other softwares through .deb files but I am able to call them through the terminal or through the start-like menu (GUI Menu) in linux mint.

I trust this issue is due to the fact that CCS was installed using a .bin file.


Kindly tell me how I should start the CCS GUI.

    after the struggle, I figured that as the ccsxxxx.bin is run as root, its installed under root. All shortcuts and installation files are associated with the root.


    the way to get around this is to install the same under the usual account you use, and everything including shortcuts and compilers will be installed as normally you would expect.
