CCS Version 4.1.1.00014 - Debugger does not start

I'm having the same problem.  (Except for the license-issues).  I even created a Hello World Bios 5 project and tried to JTAG it to my DSK.  When I click "debug", no debug session starts.  It switches to Debug perspective, but doesn't launch into the debugger and breakpoint at main.  The ROV tab says "No active debug session" and when I try to run some scripts in the scripting console, it does the same.

What happened?  I was encountering the problem as of yesterday in CCSv4.0.  I thought maybe I should take this as an incentive to upgrade to 4.1, hoping that would resolve it, but it hasn't.  :(

Hey, while playing around just now, I tried going to "Window -> Reset Perspective" and it prompted me for an "Are you sure idiot?" confirmation.  When I did, it popped into the normal debug perspective and I was breakpointed at main, waiting to run.  I ran, it worked, etc, etc.

Give it a try.  Good luck.

No luck for me. But in my case I might have a licensing issue as well.

Does it say "Unlicensed" or nothing at all?

Nothing at all!

Just to confirm - when you select 'Help->Licensing Options...' no license dialog pops up either?

Yes that's correct. Nothing pops up when I do Help->Licensing Options...

Strange. Could you try cleaning your workspace?

The max heap size should be 256MB (-Xmx256m) by default in eclipse.ini, sometimes people have to bump this up to 512 (-Xmx512m).  You shouldn't have to do anything to this file to run a simulator.
