Can we develop linux on windows platform in CCSv5 using the SDK in above download? OR is it only applicable when we have native linux pc?
Hi Gautam,
I don't know anything about linux development. Actually I am having windows PC and there are least chances I can get Linux Machine. Thats why I was exploring, something that can be done so that I can see components of SDK or design some application in CCSv6 on windows platform using Sitara Linux SDK. So I want to understand Is there any chance anything can be done without linux (native host or VMware), just with CCSv5/6 and that SDK? But it seems that SDK is actually made for linux OS. Is that it?
thanks,
chinmay

Yup Chinmay, that's why I suggested you to go with VMware. You can install VMware on Windows PC and then install Linux on this virtual machine where you can work with Sitara SDK.

It is doable to work exclusively in Windows but it is a bit of a pain. I had to install the SDK on linux and then copy the directory over to Windows for development and debug. There are a lot of gotchas that can happen. And of course all the SDK documentation will assume are you on Linux. So it is recommended you use a Linux OS, whether VM (as Gautam suggested) or native.
Thanks
