CCSv4 using XDS510LC with F28035

Hi team,

In CCS v4.1.1, when setting up with an XDS510LC, only the 28034 shows up? There is no listing for 28035. Choosing 28034 seems to work though.

Is there a patch expected for this?

I am not sure where the responsibility lies nowadays with CSP/patches like this in the new CCSv4, Spectrum or us?

Thanks,

Billy

  • Billy,

yes the way the drivers are delivered makes this a bit confusing as to who owns what.  SD and BH drivers are bundled with CCS but they still create their own driver installation packages that they hand off to CCS and post on their sites.  So getting a device to show up falls under the domain of the emulator vendor.

Both BH and SD have update sites built into CCS so when they have a new driver package it should automatically download and install it.

  • Billy,

I investigated this a bit and found that F28035.xml file (located in C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\common\targetdb\Devices) has an additional cpu (the CLA or Control Logic Accelerator unit) when compared to F28034.xml. I removed the CLA from the configuration and it is recognized by the XDS510LC configuration (check the picture at the end).

Although the removal of CLA is a workaround, the definitive solution would be Spectrum recognize this device as it is configured. I will try to contact someone there and see if they have a fix for it - maybe there is one already out.

    Cheers,

    Rafael

  • Thanks a lot John for the explanation, and Raphael for looking into it!

  • I'm having the same problem, but I wan't to debug CLA using the XDS510LC. Did you receive an answer from Spercturm digital about this issue?
