Problem with floating license: Unable to start vendor: tidspssw.

Hi,

I have a problem with setting flexnet floating license server. I did exactly like here:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/License_Server_Administration_for_CCS

and during starting Vendor Daemon: tidspssw, in FlexNet GUI, I receive the error:

Unable to start vendor: tidspssw.

I use system: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 v. Standard x64 Edition Service Pack 2.

Is it problem with 64 bit OS?

Any suggestions?

Regards

Mirek

  • Mirek,

64-bit systems work fine with the license server and the method described in the page you sent, but some people reported specific configurations required to be made by the DEP - mostly opening the ports in use by the license server.

Unfortunately we do not have access to a Windows Server to properly test and verify all this to give any relevant suggestions with this particular configuration, but if you search this forum for DEP or Windows Server you will find some relevant discussions about this.

Also, you can check what is the exact error message and any error codes and see if you are able to find something on the internet as well - the licensing software is widely adopted among several software providers and chances are that similar issues have found a solution already.

    Regards,

    Rafael
