The input line is too long

Which CCSv4.x version do you have?  If you update to 4.1.0 or later it should take care of this by automatically using a switch file if it detects the command line is going to be too long.  For library projects there is a fix in 4.1.2 (end of March) for the same issue.

That version is fairly old. Is there any particular reason why you do not want to change?

We are in the middle of our development and usually it is not allowed for us to change complier versions. We will have to really evaluate the impact before making the change.

When you install the 4.1.1 patch it won't update your compiler.  We have the IDE, compiler and BIOS updates packaged separately for the very reason you state.  To get the 4.1.1 patch you would have to go to Help -> SOftware Updates, Find and Install then select "Search for new features to install"

If you update CCS using the Update Manager, only the IDE/Debugger get updated. Your compiler and BIOS versions remain the same.

And even if they did get new versions of the compiler and BIOS, you can always configure CCS to use the old ones

4.1.1. Make sure you get it from the Update Manager and select the “Search for new features to install” in the Help->Software Updates->Find and Install” dialog. The default is to search for updates for existing features so you will need to make this change before looking for the 4.1.1 update.

Blackhawk CCSv4 Emulation (4.0.1.1) requires feature "com.ti.ccstudio.product (4.0.2.00013)", or equivalent.

What do I have to do get Blackhawk CCSv4 Emulation (4.0.1.1) ?

Try the option to search for existing features to install. You should see the Blackhawk drivers there. Once you install them, then try the option to look for new features.

I searched for existing feature and installed. Still it does allow me to install CCSv4.1.1 and it gives the message as

Blackhawk CCSv4 Emulation (4.0.1.1) requires feature "com.ti.ccstudio.product (4.0.2.00013)", or equivalent.

Uncheck the box for the Blackhawk update site.  It seems to be finding an older driver package.

I am unchecking Blackhawk CCSv4 Emulation Updates. I also tried unchecking Blackhawk CCSv4 Emulation Updates and Spectrun Digital Emulation Updates. Even then I an not able to continue with the install.
