Have you already installed GUI composer? If not then please do go to App center (In CCS v6) and install Gui Composer.

Seems like some kind of instability. Anyways I'm forwarding your query to a GUI expert.

It seems like the respective person might be on a holiday. In any case I've pinged him again.; just in case he might've missed.

  • Hi Bipin,

I am not completely sure why you are get this error message. Can you try to reinstall GUI composer and run it again? If you still get the same error message, can you zip up the webapps folder and attach it to this thread?

    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Thanks for looking into this problem.
I too am having the same issue.
I already have a working CCS 6.0.1 installation but wanted to test running stand alone under the GUI composer run time.
    Got the error above.
Just now downloaded the latest GUI composer run time from the TI wiki link (GUI_Composer-6.0.0.0-Setup.exe 318,104KB) and installed again.
There was a eclipse related failure during installation (see log below), but installation continued and reported success.
    Re-running the launcher in the installed demo (C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\modem_m3\modem_m3_gc_app.exe) or launcher.exe in my own distributable files both report the same error;
unable to locate GUI composer server to launch this application

My CCS installation ( Version: 6.0.1.00040 ) is working and I can develop with the GUI composer development tool.
However, this issue is impacting me as I can not test the GUI composer distributable files.
    Looking forward to a resolution.

  • Please try to run the included "modem_m3" example application and see if that work.

Make sure you unzip the exported project into the webapps folder. i.e c:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\myapp. There should be a launcher.exe in myapp folder. Use this exe to launch your application. Let me know whether this work or not.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Richard,

Ignore my last post, I missed your comment about the example application. I will continue to look into this issue. So far, I wasn't able to reproduce this issue.

Do you have time to setup a webex session so that I can remote debug your setup. It will probably more helpful than me trying to reproduce this issue.

    Thanks,
    Patrick
  • After digging more into the code, I see the error was generated by not able to load a plugin. It would be helpful to have the entire guicomposer folder zip up where I can download and debug from there. Having it in dropbox or google drive where I can download would be great.

    Patrick
  • This looks like an installation issue, we are working on a solution. In the meantime, if you have a working runtime on another PC, you can just copy the entire guicomposer folder from that PC.
