CCSv4 uninstall registry residual / Norton virus warning

Hi Team,

Can you help me address these 2 pieces of feedback? This happened after I had a customer uninstall 4.0.2 and make the jump to 4.1.1.

1)   I removed the program folder completely, along with a few registry items
that referred to install & upgrades.  I installed in a
_TI directory and everything went without a hitch.
There are still quite a few orphaned registry keys containing
080B18E592643CE4AA09353849211202
which I'm not sure are safe to delete or not.

2)  Norton-360 v4.0 periodically reports a
(Suspicious.AD) threat by heuristic scan.
It has removed and quarantined the following:

uninstall_idecore.exe @ 3/18/2010 1:22 pm
uninstall_dvt.exe     @ 3/18/2010 1:22 pm
ti_tms570_setup_4.1.1.0.exe @ 3/18/2010 2:40 pm
uninstall_ti_dspack.exe @ 3/18/2010 7:22 pm

I've left them quarantined for now.

Thanks,

Billy

  • I would not delete those keys.  In searching through my registry I see that one of them refers to a microsoft runtime library.  We do install this during the v4 install but if they deleted those keys it would likely screw up 4.1.

Those executables are used to uninstall CCS.  If they are left behind from the 4.0 install they could delete them, if they are in the 4.1 directory I would keep them.
