OMAPl138 pure software emulator on CCS 6

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

I recently started to program and debug an OMAPL138 device using CCS 6.0.1.
I was wondering if there is a pure software emulator this device? I mean an emulator which will allow me to compile, debug and run an OMAPL138 code I wrote on my PC as if it was running directly on my computer.

If such an Emulator does exist is it avilabele on CCS 6.0.1? If not then on what version does it exist? Do you need to purches the right to use this emulator?

  • We refer to them as simulators. In CCSv5 and earlier there were simulators for the 2 main cores in OMAPL138 (i.e. the ARM9 and the C674x DSP). However there was no true device simulator. Your best bet is to purchase a low cost OMAPL138 development board. The LCDK http://www.ti.com/tool/TMDXLCDK138 is $200 but you may be able to find a partner with a cheaper board.
