===BEGIN UPDATE===
I just turned off every Norton Protection Suite feature I could think of, and the most recent image installed ok. Went back to overall CCS v4 install, and it successed past MSP430. I'm not watching it continue successfully. It appears that Norton Internet Security and Norton Protection Center are the cause. I turned off for 5 hours each of the following (perhaps fewer could be turned off): Auto Protect, Personal Firewall, Intrusion Protection, Spyware Protection, Phishing Protection, Crimeware Protection.

I had a similar problem install CCS v3.3, and now I'm having it again with CCS v4. When I run the installer, at the very end of the first install image, the install produces an error message about not being able to install the uninstall program. I investigated further and saw that the CCS v4 install actually runs multiple individual install images. Well, I'm running each of those by hand now. Half of them get a very similar error trying to install their corresponding uninstall program.
This is very obnoxious and gives me zero confidence that my CCS will work properly when I'm done. I'm continuing nevertheless, however, in hopes that this particular error is *after* all those things necessary to run, and only impacts the ability to uninstall the product later.
More specifically and for example, the overall CCS v4 install seems to try to install MSP430 first. Once the green progess bar reaches all the way to the right, suggesting that the install is nearly complete, I get an error message. The detail of that message is:
Error in action ExecuteAction: Error in action InstallUninstaller: could not read "C:/Program Files/Texas Instruments/ccsv4/tools/compiler/msp430/uninstall_cgt_msp430.exe": no such file or directory
Error in action ExecuteAction: Error in action InstallUninstaller: could not read "C:/Program Files/Texas Instruments/ccsv4/tools/compiler/msp430/uninstall_cgt_msp430.exe": no such file or directory
while executing
"$obj execute"
(procedure "::InstallJammer::ExecuteActions" line 65)
invoked from within
"::InstallJammer::ExecuteActions $id -when $when"
(procedure "::InstallJammer::RaiseEventHandler" line 79)
invoked from within
"::InstallJammer::RaiseEventHandler .wizard"
(command bound to event)
While the message was displayed, I looked for the program uninstall_cgt_msp430.exe. The folder ...ccsv4/tools/compiler/msp430 was present, but there was no such uninstall program in that folder. It seems that the install is either looking in the wrong place, looking for the wrong thing, looking after it's already deleted it, or something else weird.
Any and all assistance at resolve this problem will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I'm taking complete notes. So far I've installed the images listed below. 1 out of 7 asked to be installed later. 2 worked. 4 gave me a similar error
