[F28027] UnitFlash shutdown and Flash memory fault locking

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi Champs,

Recently  my customer have 0.6% failure rate for programing F28027.

The condiiton most likely is that  unitflash tool is  shuting down  and they turn off the gui direct. Then the flash memory is locking.

I met the same condition with CCS4. When we download code by CCS and the CCS shutdown ,  i directly force the CCS turning off.

Then ,the device may  lock.

May i ask what is the right procedure to deal with this kind of condition??

When the CCS or unit flash is shuting down during downloading the out file ,  how we can do to avoid the flash memory programming/ erasing  failure??

Is it possible to insert JTAG command to turn off the  erasing / programming procedure??

  • Brian,

As you might be aware, we mention in about flash api documents that if flash erase / program operations aren't allowed to complete, it does have the potential to lock the device (or) leave flash bit cells in depleted state.

What do you mean why Uniflash shutdown? Can you please elaborate? Having some snapshots should help the flash tool development team debug the issue. Also, please give us more details about CCS shutdown problem.

    Regards,
    Manoj
  • Hi Manoj,
Sorry for that The "shutting down " is not a right word. The condition is the uniflash or CCS become no response any more.
The program became uncontrollable until we use Task Manager to force the program closing.
It is always happen when you keep using it around several hours.
Unfortunately, i didn't take a snapshots in hands. I would do that once i meet it again.
