How do I connect an XDS PRO TRACE to CCSv6?

I tried following the instructions in the training doc suggested in software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/training/modules/trace_keystone/CCSv6-KeystoneTraceWorkshop.pptx on slide 24, but when I create a new target connection, the drop down for Connection does not have Spectrum Digital XDSPRO USB Emulator as a choice.  When I plugged it in (usb port only), Windows said it found the drivers and it was ready to use.  I have an Sd560v2Cnfg.exe in my CCSv5 directory, and it finds the 560 and reads it's serial number just fine.  How do I get CCSv6 to see the emulator?

Thanks

Mike

  • Hi Mike,
Did you install the Spectrum Digital drivers? I don't think they are installed by default. Check your .\ccsv6\ccs_base\common\targetdb\connections folder and see if you have an files that start with "SD" like "SDPROTRACEUSB_Connection.xml". If you do not have any that start with "SD" then you probably did not install them. You can rerun the CCS installer over your existing installation to add additional components like the SD drivers.

    thanks

  • Ok, that worked. I had found an old document that said to run ccs_base\CC_Setup.exe but that must be for older CCS versions because it doesn't exist in v6. Thank you.
