How to know which workspace I am using?

How can I tell which workspace I am using from within the CCS GUI?

  • A couple ideas:

Project > "New CCS Project", then look at the default location, it may be your workspace.

There is also the Project Properties > Resource > Linked Resources, there is described a path variable WORKSPACE_LOC whose value may be the workspace you are working in.
  • MikeH,

I usually go to menu File --> Switch Workspace --> Other. It always shows the current workspace I am working.

    Hope this helps,

  • Thanks guys. Sure seems like a convoluted way to find out my current workspace. Perhaps TI could add a workspace path to either the gobs of white space at the bottom of the CCS window, or to the top where the project name path is shown.
  • Mike,

It is possible to show a name for the workspace on the main title bar.

If you go window -> preferences and then enter a name in the box shown below.  This will now be the name associated with the workspace and get show on the top title bar.

I suppose a name is used as a workspace is really just a folder on your PC so the path could be quite long.  Thus by giving it a name it is much more likely to fit.

    Regards,

    John

  • Aha! A much more elegant way of doing things. Thanks John!
