CCS v4' target configration for OMAP3530

Hi.

I am using CCS v4.x for OMAP3530EVM with XDS510USB emulator.

When I select  "Spectrum Digital XDS510USB emulator " and OMAP3530 for target configration,

I find four configlations; OMAP3530, BSQUARE OMAP3530, MISTRAL OMAP3530_XDS510USB and OMAP3530_XDS510USB.

So, which one should I select?

Or it does not matter ?

Jon

  • Jon,

Two of the configurations depend on the board manufacturer of your 3530 EVM: Mistral or Bsquare. They contain GEL files that initialize external peripherals specific to the board used. The other two configurations do not initialize external peripherals, therefore more suitable for custom boards.

I used to connect to OMAP3530EVM version 1 from Mistral (TMDXEVM3503) using the MISTRAL OMAP3530_XDS510USB configuration. It will have the pre-configured GEL files for the memory and some board peripherals. Depending on the memory used by the board you may have to change the PoP memory type (check this post for additional details).

Unfortunately I never used a OMAP3530EVM version 2 board from Mistral (TMDSEVM3530), therefore I can't tell for sure what changes are required (if any) to make this board work.

If the configuration mentioned does not work or if your board is from a different manufacturer, I suggest also posting this question on the OMAP forum, since they may have additional comments from a hardware/peripherals perspective.

    I hope this helps,

    Rafael
