Symbol 'IER' could not be resolved in cpu.c

I have just installed Motorware 13 and am going through the labs. When I open the file cpu.c, errors are indicated in the file:

"Symbol 'IER' could not be resolved" and

"Symbol 'IFR' could not be resolved".

The file will compile using CCS 6.0.1.00040.

Any ideas what could be wrong here?

did you install MotorWare at the default location?
ex:
C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_13

What do you mean errors are indicated when you open the file? You would only see errors during compile...yet you say it compiles fine.

Yes, Motorware is installed in the default location: C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_13.

What I mean by opening the file: When I open the project on the project tree, I see all the files including cpu.c. No errors are shown. But when I open the file cpu.c from the project tree, then these errors are indicated. But the project still builds (build all), and downloads to the target.

The problem was resolved however, by closing and re-opening CCS. So, I'm not exactly sure what happened.

I thought by restarting the CCS that the errors went away, but that was only because I had not reopened cpu.c.

If I open cpu.c, I get errors displayed in the "Problem" window: "Symbol 'IER' could not be resolved" and "Symbol 'IFR' could not be resolved". But the file still compiles with no errors. The code works fine.

Why am I seeing these errors?

I also get the same message.

It seems to be a Problem of the Code analyzer and not of the compiler.

Which exact project are you seeing this on?

I'm working the examples that come in Motorware. Example path:

C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_13\sw\solutions\instaspin_foc\boards\drv8301kit_revD\f28x\f2806xF\projects\ccs5\proj_lab04

cpu.c path, common for all the examples (for non Motion, I think):

C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_13\sw\drivers\cpu\src\32b\f28x\f2806x\cpu.c

No error is shown on the project in project explorer until the cpu.c file is opened.

I 'm also using Version: 6.0.1.00040.

I had the problem on a self-created project (can’t share it).

In the last days I haven't seen the error messages. Sometime I see this error messages and sometimes not. I don’t know why.

I still can't reproduce. Project builds fine. Opening cpu.c has no effect.

I'm going to move this post to the CCS forum to see if the experts have any ideas.

Charlie,

The message is coming from the Eclipse Indexer (hence shouldn't affect the build and operation of the program), however I am not sure why it is appearing for you if all you are doing is importing the Motorware example project. I can't reproduce the errors when I open cpu.c, however please take a look at this related thread as there are a couple of suggestions there you could try.
