CCS5 Installation fails at Eclipse

We are trying to install CCS 5.4.0.3091 and it fails at Eclips installation as shown in below screen shot.

In the beginning, its giving warning about Anti Virus, but we just ignore as we can't disable Anti-Virus. And we can't add any exceptions also.

I could not able to find option to attach the zip file (to attach install jammer log)

  • Hi Bhaskar,

Can you please download CCS v5.5 or CCS v6? Both of these are stable setups. Also, if you cannot disable your anti-virus - disable your firewall and run the setup using "Run As Administrator"

    Gautam
  • Windows Firewall is already off.
Our corporate IT do not want to disable the Anti Virus. Few months back we could able install successfully. It looks the anti-virus policies are made stringent in our network recently. We just tried the same setup files of CCS CCS 5.4.0.3091 on a lab desktop which does not have this Anti-virus, it installed successfully. But we need it on our laptops which have McAfee anti virus.
We tried CCS v5.5 from the DVD provided by TI, same issue.
Assuming CCS v6 works, can we use the CCS v5 licences with CCS v6 (after 90 days)?

    Details of Anti Virus:
    System Information
    Computer Name: IN-L-KBXI01xxxx

    McAfee Agent
    Version number: 4.8.0.1500
    Managed

McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise
    Version number: 8.8.0 (8.8.0.1247)
    Build date: 1/15/2014

    Anti-virus License Type: licensed

    Scan engine version (32-bit): 5600.1067

    Scan engine version (64-bit): 5600.1067

    DAT version: 7679.0000
    DAT Created on: 1/12/2015
  • Forgot to mentioned that, we have Administrator rights and ran as Administrator using "Run as Administrator"
This is new laptop with Windows 7 64 bit.
We could able to install, Visual Studio and Altium Designer without any issues and without touching any Anti-virus settings
Problem with CCS installation, looks to be Anti-virus related.
  • Ok... you need to talk to your IT guy/department then to sort this out. If you've CCS v5 license then stick to CCS v5 only as I'm not sure whether you'll be able to shift to CCS v6 with the same license; as normally within 1yr (from activating CCSv5 license) is the duration where you can shift into major versions else CCS v5.5 seems like a best option for you.

  • Hi Bhaskar,

Your install logs show that you have the environment variable _JAVA_OPTIONS set. This interferes with the eclipse installation.

Please do the following before re-installing:

Unset the JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable temporarily - you can reset it after the installation is complete.

Delete the contents of your aborted installation c:\ti\ccsv5.

Let me know if you have any issues.

    Danish

  • Hi Danish,
Your suggestion about, JAVA_OPTIONS, worked. After unsetting it, I could able to install CCS.
    Thanks.
