C55xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1146)

CCS v5.2, C5515 DSP

Occasionally during debugging I get the following error message.

C55xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1146 @ 0x400) Device ID is not recognized or is not supported by driver. Confirm device and emulator configuration is correct, or update device driver. (Emulation package 5.1.232.0)

The only way I have found to resolve the error is to unplug the emulator (XDS560 V2 STM) from my target board, then plug it back in. Can someone tell me what's going on?

  • MikeH,

That is unfortunate; does this happen during daily activities or when running the system overnight or for extended periods? I am thinking that PC sleep modes may be triggering this, as nothing else was ever reported with continuous disconnects using this class of JTAG debuggers.

I will try to reproduce this locally by running my system overnight (no sleep modes). However, my system is somewhat different than yours: CCSv5.5 with Emulation package 5.1 .636.0 connected to my EVM5517, Blackhawk emulators component 5.5.0.344 and Spectrum Digital 5.2.0.13.

If I am unable to reproduce this, perhaps an idea would be to update the components.

    Regards,
    Rafael
