Getting the TMS320F2812 to boot from FLASH

Hi

I am using  CCS v3.3 and I am having trouble understanding all of the necessary steps in getting the 2812 to boot from FLASH.  I compiled the TI example code included in the project file entitled "F2812_example_nonBIOS_flash.pjt", but when I try to load the "F2812_example_nonBIOS_flash.out" file to the DSP, I get the following error message:

"Data verification failed at address 0x3D8000. Please verify target memory and memory map."

Is there a setting that I need to change somewhere in CCS?

I am using a GAOTek XDS510 Emulator and a GAOTek 2812EVM-I Evaluation board.

Thanks

Erik

  • Erik,

In CCSv3.3 you can't use the load program feature to program the flash.  On the tools menu there should be a menu item for flash programming.  This will bring up a window that you can use to program the flash.

In CCSv4 you can just hit load program and it will program the flash and load the symbols.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hi Erik.

I am in the same point.

My board is running perfectly under "F2812_example_nonBIOS_ram.out".

But when I try to program flash, using "F28xx on-chip flash programmer", with "F2812_example_nonBIOS_flash.out" file, the F2810 doesn't run.

Did you have sucess? Do you remember the options you used for programming?

    Thanks a lot!
