CCS Mac Feedback

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE, MSP-FET, MSP430F5529

Hi,

I have downloaded the Beta on my machine, and have observed that only TI-RTOS for MSP430 is available in the App Center (relevant to MSP development). Which is alright, as I can easily import CCS projects from elsewhere.

But, I have been unable to connect to the debugger. Despite the TI provided drivers getting installed in the /Library/Extensions folder, dmesg shows that the OS is unable to find CDC drivers for the device. I have only tried the value line Launchpad so far (will update if I find any other device working).

  • Anup,

I split the thread off from the other one.

Currently MSP430Ware is not available from the App Center. It is being integrated and should be available by the time we roll the release out broadly.

As far as debug support the G2 (ValueLine) LaunchPad is only supported on Windows. The MSP-FET and newer LaunchPads (5529, 5969) will work on Mac (and Linux).

  • John, and others,

Thanks for the clarification. I have an ez-FET (MSP430F5529 LaunchPad) and an MSP-FET working with my CCS for Mac. They seem to be working perfectly so far.

Wish the CCS App Store would have MSP430Ware quickly though!

    So far so good.

    Regards,
    Anup
