Graph scaling issues still in CCS6

Hi there,

I still have plenty of problems with Tools>Graph autoscale/custom scaling not working under CCS Version: 6.0.1.00040

I'm running Windows7 Pro SP1 64bit.

I've seen lots of posts about this being 'buggy' in CCS5 & a rewrite planned for CCS6... are there any suggestions/fixes/news on this topic yet?

Thanks, JD

  • Hi,

What are exactly the scaling errors you are seeing? It is very difficult to guess what may be happening in your system.

I am using CCSv6.0.1 and a simple sinewave generator gave me a reasonable display output and both the zoom and the autoscale controls worked ok - obviously that I did a simple test and may not have hit what you are experiencing.

    Rafael
  • Generally I'm using dual time graphs with complex signed integer data, though had the same issues with single times.

    - once you zoom in on any axis, can't reset/zoom back out

    - axis range won't update if you, for example, double magnitude of array in the same debug/graph context

    - have to close down & reload graph each time such change to source data occur

    - occasionally it will autoscale 'wrong' - notably on windowed data where first & last samples may be small but middle elements large - it will decide to scale such that large values aren't displayed

    - I've never found enable/disable autoscale to do anything - it always does in first population & never does again!

Believe these have all been raised with CCS5 & I'm certainly seeing it with CCS6.

P.S. using TIVA C Series with XDS100V2 which may/maynot be relevant

  • Hi,

You should be able to reset zoom using this button  .

Autoscale was designed to increase the y-axis range to show the largest value encountered but not shrink when smaller values are encountered.

When autoscale is disabled the y-axis range will remain at it's current range ... even after larger values are encountered. Also after disabling autoscale the graph property will include fields so you can set y axis range.

  • thank you so much - the 'manual range' makes me very happy.

do you know if it's possible to take the 'autoscale' and 'min/max' parameters when importing/exporting graph properties?

that might just make me smile.
  • These fields are not currently imported/exported, I file an enhancement request (SDSCM00051667) to have these added.

    Imtaz.
