Hi folks,
I note at: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS#Code_Composer_Studio_Version_6_Downloads that the downloads table mentions that it is possible to update to 6.1 from within CCS (am running 6.0 currently).
If this is correct, it would be preferable as un-installing and installing the newer version means losing preferences such as code templates and other such preferences that aren't included in the preferences export, plus plugin information such as Mylyn task context information.
The page linked above seems to provide no further information on the subject however :(
Is this done by changing or adding update sites? Which ones? (the component manifest from the same link doesn't seem to correlate in anyway to the software sites I currently have). TBH I don't really have much of a notion on what each of the *current* sites does or doesn't include...
- Are there instructions published anywhere to update within v6?
- Or a list of the update sites needed?
- Or a recommended method for saving plugin and *ALL* preference information from v6 if a clean install actually is necessary to update.
- If this is the case and the new install uses newer versions of the plugins how should one then "upgrade" the saved plugin information?
Many thanks
T
EDIT: PS: I just noted the "disabled" update sites. Checking these against the XML file for restoring update site listings it seems correct that they're disabled. Out of idle curiosity why are disabled update sites included?
