CCSv4 and Eclipse v3.2

I understand that CCSv4.1 is based on Eclipse 3.2 IDE. Does TI have plans to update to a more recent release of Eclipse (e.g. 3.4 or 3.5)? Our company is interested in getting the SlickEdit plugin for Eclipse but the plugins are only compatible with 3.4 or 3.5 versions of Eclipse.

Hi Mike,

The next major release of CCS (version 5) will shipped with Eclipse 3.6 (or maybe even greater). Also v5 will be flexible so that people can upgrade the Eclipse IDE on their own. See the Eclipse Strategy wiki topic for more details.

v5 is still some time away. Release will probably be sometime early next year, with early adopters and beta versions available for tryout later this year.

There will still be several v4 updates (4.1.2, 4.2, etc). But none of these will address your issue of an updated Eclipse version. You will need v5 for that.

Mike,

I am using the Slickedit plugin on the Galileo version of Eclipse. I think this is version 3.4. I configured Eclipse to compile code only. I use CC4 to link and debug.
