Device support for AM3358 not available when creating target configuration

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3358

I'm using CCS6. My installation was originally only to support the C6655 DSP, but we would like to now use it to connect to the AM3358 with JTAG.

A debug session in CCS requires a target configuration, but when editing or creating one, the AM3358 is not listed as an available device.

How do I get AM3358 support in CCS6?

  • Hi Steve,
You most likely did not install Sitara support when you first installed CCSv6. You have two options:

    1) re-run the installer over your existing CCSv6 install. This will allow you to add missing components to your existing install. From here you can choose to add Sitara support
    2) re-run the installer in a new directory for a fresh new install. Make sure Sitara support is included.

Note that #1 will only work if you did not take an IDE update since originally installing (ex. incrementally updating from 6.0.1 to 6.1.0). If you did, then #2 is the recommended path.

    Thanks

  • That sucks. I performed the update in the hope that it might resolve my problem, but it simply set me back quite a bit!

  • Hi Steve,
You probably already reinstalled, but in case you did not, you can try downloading the installer of the CCS version you updated to and add the additional components (ex, if you updated from 6.0.1 to 6.1.0, try running the installer for 6.1.0). I believe that may work also.
