mkhex4bin.exe shows as containing a trojan

I just got this notice while running CCS warning of a trojan in

C:\TI\ccsv6\utils\tiobj2bin\mkhex4bin.exe

. I just did a fresh installation yesterday.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reporting this. It is probably a false positive or something else in your system happened to infect this file.

As a coincidence, I just had to reinstall my copy of CCSv6.1.0 this afternoon and Symantec Endpoint Protection release 12.1.5 (12.1.5337.5000 - virus definitions updated this morning) did not accuse anything.

In any case, I will be on the lookout for anything or anybody else that may be getting this.

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • 360 Total Security just did the same again for armcg.exe. 360 TS behaves pretty badly when this happens, too. It puts up a dialog offering you the chance to whitelist the program, but it deletes it anyhow. So I'm pretty upset with 360 TS, and am shutting it off.
