License Acquisition error after automatic update

Yesterday CSS 4.0 asked my to update I clicked yes. Several downloads and installs followed. Some of the installs had error messages in de clean up fase of the process. Some messages about the rights to delete some DLL files. After acknowlegde off the message the install was hanging.

This morning I started CCS 4.0 but it gives a License acquisition error now. What should I do to solve this?

  • Marcel,

As the state of your install is unknown, the simplest thing I could think of doing at this point would be to install the full 4.1.2 release that was just posted on the wiki. Your existing license file will work with this update if you are using a license file. It would also be ideal if you could install the new version to a different folder so we can determine what went wrong with the original update.

If this is not possible, we can work to get your broken install working.

Even if you are able to install the new full 4.1.2 version, I would like to understand better why the update failed. The installer keeps a log file located at:

            C:\Program Files\InstallJammer Registry\ccsv4\DF98E52A-EF99-44CD-87FE-983EC4F3E105\TI_CCSv4_install.log

Would you be able to zip up this file and attach it to your post?  Could you also tell me what OS version you are using?

  • Andy,

Enclosed the log file you asked for.

Sorry for my late reply but I had a lot of work to do last to weeks. To solve the problem I restored a backup of the old version. So I could work, but I want to update to the new version.
