CCSv6.1…104
‘Automatic Updates’ starts always on startup which a huge download, regardless of check boxes, except when ‘Automatic Updates’ and ‘Look for … schedule’ is selected then it will startup once a week.
How to disable/avoid this behavior completely?

Leo,
Do you mean "how to disable checking for updates completely"? If so, you can uncheck the box "Automatically find new updates and notify me".

Does this not work for you? It works with my CCS 6.1.0.

No! Therefore I wrote ‘regardless’.
I don’t know how you check if the check-box works as expected, but I’m watching the Internet data traffic and that shows the huge download when CCS is starting “regardless of any check boxes” ‘Checked or Unchecked’.
Leo,
Thanks for reporting back your findings. Yes, opening the CCS App Center will also check for updates. It doesn't directly correlate with the Help->Check for Updates menu though as some of the update sites are different in App Center (for instance, TI-RTOS and some other modules are only on App Center and not found when checking for updates), so I don't think this view can be linked to the “Automatically find new updates and notify me” checkbox.
