CCSV4: "Reset CPU" and "Restart"

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5502

Here is the scenario:

TMS320VC5502 with serial EEPROM attached via I2C bus. I power up the TMS320, then "connect" to CCSV4 in Debug mode.

1) Does connecting the debug emulator to the DSP halt the CPU?

2) In this case, what does clicking on the "Reset CPU" button do? What does clicking on the "Restart" button do?

Thanks.

The default behavior is to halt the target. It is possible to do a non intrusive connect (connect to the target without halting) but it depends on the device and if there is support for such action:

    For "Reset CPU", see:

"Restart" simply resets the program counter to the entry point of the application.

    Thanks
